Welcome Get Shot By Tate!
Since you MUST know about me...... I'll talk about what kind of photographer I am. I'm the kid who hated traditional crap. I hated the concept of doing wedding photography. I wanted to do high fashion and naked people - and that WAS IT. Fast Forward to ten + years later....... I'm doing weddings, naked people (but it's always tasteful..... or at least I think it is) and I do SOME traditional stuff. I like to think my traditional stuff is twisted. Ok, it's not traditional. Call it what you want to call it, but I don't like the WORD - traditional. My wife does. She's twisted traditional. My work is my work. I don't like rules. It's hard for me to play by the rules when I'm doing photography. I think that's what keeps it so fun for me. I tell the parents of my senior shoots that I dislike cap and gown shots (was I supposed to do that?) but I still do them because I know they love those. ;-) I think you get the drift of what kind of photographer I am. I may think I'm way more radical than I am, but let me think I'm just ubercool and not traditional. Okay?

Amanda and Darren are such a cool hip couple! They got hitched in the middle of nowhere in Bedford, NY which was perfect for what they were going for. Amanda got in touch with me and asked if I'd come up for a quickie wedding and do some cool wedding portraits of them around the town. A few weeks before the ceremony, she let me know noone was allowed to take photos during the actual ceremony - me pouty! I couldn't resist but just accidentally take two or three. They're all not shabby! We had a ball with the few hours we had for this event.

Amanda and Darren, thank you for having me cover your wedding event. It's such an honor every time someone asks me to do so.

and P.S. Can you tell I was crazy in love with Amanda's mermaid tattoo? I loved it. I want one on my back!

Here are some of my faves of their day!

I normally don't get to edit a few wedding photos the next morning - but this batch was just too good to not do one.

I've been in Watercolor, Florida (can you say amazing?) for the weekend just hanging out with the Depp-Clement gang. They've made me so comfortable! Food, lodging, and just all of it.

Here is a series of Kevin and Shannon from our wedding portrait shoot yesterday. They are both avid bikers so it just made sense to do a couple bike shots! I'm glad we did! They are just too funny.

P.S. Doesn't Shannon look stunning or what???? (And yeah, Kevin too....) Wedding couples always have that "extra glow"........

This wedding was held at the Hemingbough in St. Francisville which made it my second one to cover there. My first time there was for Jessica (Bishop) Stuart's wedding in 2007 (or was it 2008?)! It's definitely nice already being familiar with the location and knowing where good spots are to capture photos.

Michelle and Richie were a really fun laid back couple. They had everyone over all day and just pretty much chilled out with beer and chit chat. They did the centerpieces, they ordered pizza in, and they had a great time. Michelle, the bride, was just stunning and her heart is just so obviously sweet to the max. She and her mother kept asking Sarah and I if we were alright and if we needed anything. Any wedding photographer will tell you this - when a couple decides to book a "house" or a bunch of rooms all in the same place/area, that is a DREAM come true. Whether or not you have an assistant/2nd shooter - the SAME place is brilliant. Everyone is relaxed knowing everyone is "there" and within call if needed. They didn't see one another until Michelle walked down the steps at the Hemingbough stage. If you want advice from me - ASK! I see so many things through all these weddings and have learned so much. I will be honest! :-)

The reception was so fun! The food was delicious. Everyone was just obviously having an absolute great time!

Aja and Kyle Fournet got hitched on March 13, 2010 at The Cabin in Gonzales, Louisiana. The Cabin was one of Sarah and I's dream reception locations when we planned our wedding but it was too small for the number of people we had attending. When Aja said that's where it'd all take place, you knew I was gleaming inside. I think The Cabin is such a gorgeous place, great food, and the overall atmosphere is one of the best in town.

Aja has been a friend since high school, and we partied tons throughout our college days so it was an honor to be the one to photograph her wedding day. Kyle is such a nice guy and I'm so happy for them to have found one another. You could tell throughout the entire day that they're just in so much love and really happy to make this the next step of their life together.

These photos on the blog are some of my favorites out of a ton! Check them out and the full album (link shown at end of blog). Thank you Aja & Kyle for having me shoot your special day!
