Welcome Get Shot By Tate!
Since you MUST know about me...... I'll talk about what kind of photographer I am. I'm the kid who hated traditional crap. I hated the concept of doing wedding photography. I wanted to do high fashion and naked people - and that WAS IT. Fast Forward to ten + years later....... I'm doing weddings, naked people (but it's always tasteful..... or at least I think it is) and I do SOME traditional stuff. I like to think my traditional stuff is twisted. Ok, it's not traditional. Call it what you want to call it, but I don't like the WORD - traditional. My wife does. She's twisted traditional. My work is my work. I don't like rules. It's hard for me to play by the rules when I'm doing photography. I think that's what keeps it so fun for me. I tell the parents of my senior shoots that I dislike cap and gown shots (was I supposed to do that?) but I still do them because I know they love those. ;-) I think you get the drift of what kind of photographer I am. I may think I'm way more radical than I am, but let me think I'm just ubercool and not traditional. Okay?

Heather has always enjoyed my work having hired me beforehand years ago at Gallaudet. She got in touch with me a few years ago and said she and Ben had gotten engaged! We did their engagement session last April in 2009, then da da da - their wedding was this recent June. We had so much fun over the course of three days hanging out, having some boozy nights, and great company!

I loved being around their families. The entire DANS hood hired me separately for their own family sessions, so that was even more income for me to bring in on this job. Talk about a plus.
We had a ball.

Here below are some of my flat out favorite shots from their wedding day! I feel like I did it all over again by just looking at these.

And by the way, Heather - I'm still hungover from a margarita overdose. ;-)

Thank you both for having me shoot your big day!

Two years ago Lissette came up to me at the DYUSA tent where we were having our first camp with the NAD people - "Hi! I'm Lissette! I've been following your work, and I just love what you do." I immediately thought she was one of the sweetest people I've ever met, especially at a first impression.

Before she left, she said - "when I finally get married one day, you'll do my wedding." As often as I see those words, it doesn't always pan out.

Well, it did for us! She contacted me last year, "I'm ENGAGED!!!" She resides in Miami and her husband (at that time, fiance, of course) is here in Louisiana. She flew in last May and we shot some amazing engagement photos around downtown Baton Rouge.

Well, the rest is history - we get all the nitty gritty details down pat and I was fortunate to shoot their wonderful wedding day! Lissette's family was just an absolute joy to be around all morning while the ladies got ready (and it didn't hurt there was delicious cuban food laying around....)

Everyone throughout the day was radiating with happiness for the bride and groom. The Woods & Molina gang both make a great match even though they're both from completely different backgrounds! I had tons of laughs with many.......

These are some of my favorites from their day! Thank you Lissette & Tim for having me shoot your special day!

Finally, I've completed the first wedding of this summer that's already almost over! :D

Ally & Nat were tons of fun! I loved being in the Providence area - checking out this and that throughout their wedding weekend. We even squeezed in some beach time! Ally & Nat had a fun filled wedding day which included a gorgeous wedding, wild reception, & a post party at her father's home - which got even more wild. They even had me doing a keg stand. Oy.

Like I said - tons of fun. I loved seeing old faces and meeting new faces. One bummer was another couple asked if I was available for a wedding date they set this fall - "Yes, I am".... :( I hate that. I know I'm already booked for another wedding but I love getting new clients, double the money, and they get fabulous photos! :D

Check out some of my favorite shots from their day & see their entire album at the end of this entry!

Thank you again Ally & Nat. Stunning, you both were!

Lori found me via the 40 under 40 thing I was chosen as part of last fall, and hired me right after only a few emails exchanged! We actually met AT the Business Report 40 under 40 gala. She came up to my table and introduced herself and I was clueless until I figured out she said she was the bride that booked me for May blah blah recently! Isn't it how cool how things work out somehow - I loved shooting her and Chet's big day!

They definitely were one of the most laid back couples I've shot for a huge deal of a day. Both were very friendly and just so easy to photograph. They weren't into the posed stuff (but we did a few traditional group shots and whatnot but overall...) so that's usually what my best work is!

They did the whole shindig at the Louisiana State Museum in Baton Rouge! Ah! I am so in love with the photographic heaven that place is. There's so many different things/areas to shoot around - and it was almost just overwhelming by that itself alone. When the flowers, the people, the food, and all the rest came into the picture - WOW! Stunning. I definitely hope I score some more gigs that hold their event there - beautiful architecture.

Check out some of my favorites from their big day. Thanks to you, Chet & Lori - for having me do such a huge day of your lives. I had a ball and the photos are just beautiful - mostly because of your family & friends!

Brooke and Travis got married in Florida (they both reside in Gainesville) - and it was a wonderful wedding weekend. Brooke is actually one of my first ever subjects to experiment my photography with back in the VERY OLD days. It was such an honor when she told me she wanted to have me come out to Florida to shoot her special day!

They have an absolutely awesome kid named Carter who was nothing but joy the entire time! Brooke and Travis were both really laidback about the whole wedding thing - she said to me, "Do whatever you want, you tell US what to do." My favorite kind of bride.

We drove out to the downtown area of Seaside, Florida and did their portraits before the actual ceremony which took place on the beach. It was gorgeous! They held their reception under a tent right outside of a block of condos their family and friends had rented out. It was intimate and just stunning. She put alot of money into the flowers and you could tell! They were masterpieces, and I think I took so many photos of them - I couldn't help it. You'll see why after you see them!

Thank you Brooke and Travis (& Carter)!
