Welcome Get Shot By Tate!
Since you MUST know about me...... I'll talk about what kind of photographer I am. I'm the kid who hated traditional crap. I hated the concept of doing wedding photography. I wanted to do high fashion and naked people - and that WAS IT. Fast Forward to ten + years later....... I'm doing weddings, naked people (but it's always tasteful..... or at least I think it is) and I do SOME traditional stuff. I like to think my traditional stuff is twisted. Ok, it's not traditional. Call it what you want to call it, but I don't like the WORD - traditional. My wife does. She's twisted traditional. My work is my work. I don't like rules. It's hard for me to play by the rules when I'm doing photography. I think that's what keeps it so fun for me. I tell the parents of my senior shoots that I dislike cap and gown shots (was I supposed to do that?) but I still do them because I know they love those. ;-) I think you get the drift of what kind of photographer I am. I may think I'm way more radical than I am, but let me think I'm just ubercool and not traditional. Okay?

Thank you New York for being such an amazing city. The clients, of course, for giving me the business and reason to come up!

Of course, time is limited these days for I - but I just couldn't not post some photos from my clients sessions in NY! Here's one from each and they're some of my favorites from each bunch. Thank you again for the business everyone!

I can just see this big, brilliant new lens I just bought (and it arrived yesterday) breaking my hand before I even get to do some work with it! :-)

It's the  Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM Telephoto Zoom Lens.

Here are some random snapshots I did with it.

LOL at photo below....
It is SO heavy compared to my previous ones. While trying to smile - I just kept laughing at her because she was shaking it so bad while holding it with her teeny tiny hands.

I love every pictures you take, I love how you can take a ordinary picture and make it look fabulous. You are an inspiration and I always check out your photos. I am just starting my own little photography business in my area but I hope someday I'll be half as great as you! Thanks for inspiring me, you're the best! :)

For the last two years, I've been volunteering at the Ascension Community Theater by donating my photography for their cast shots which go up in the lobby of the theater. I know it's not much but I am trying to get better at contributing to the arts/and my community. The people there are so wonderful and I wish I could spend more time with them. This is my thrill in the theater world :)

Here's the latest I did this week - for the cast of DOUBT. It's directed by Derek Bourque who I've become friends with through this. They just had their opening night last evening and from what I see - it was a success! Go get your tickets here

Here's the cast -

Jennifer Johnson - Sister Aloysius

doubt4.jpg
Aaron Ambeau - Father Flynn

doubt3.jpg

BrittneMry Diez - Sister James

doubt2.jpg
Mrs. Muller - Jamie Williams

Best of luck to Derek and the Cast!

On the plane over - I had some photos on my desktop so I did a quick edit of them to post up! I'm so behind on showcasing all the photos we did in Rio but man - I've been busy!

We went to Ipanema Beach and met with Antonia & Pedro, then afterwards we spent the whole afternoon with them and did a stroll/dinner. We were so exhausted from the sun that we returned to our hotel in Copacabana and called it an early night! The sun is so powerful there!

*Warning : Lensbaby overload again.
