My wonderful wife, Sarah DesHotels Tullier, has officially left her job as a Vocational Rehabilitation counselor a few weeks ago to join TTP full time. She has been 50 percent owner ever since the business launched but always went out of her way to help me so much even on top of her other job. I wore her out (and still do). Now she'll really be able to focus on the little "big" things that were taking so much of my time away from editing. After a few months, this change is going to make my turnaround of results much quicker. I thought my price increase last summer would "slow" things down to make editing quicker - but boy, was I wrong - and very grateful for the love.

Anyway - please join me to tell Sarah - Welcome to Tate Tullier Photography!!!!!!!!

Sarah will be blogging off and on on this website to get more photos posted up on here as well as her blogsite at Tullier Gumbo!

yay! yay! together, you both make a winning team and makes totally sense for her to finally join in the nitty gritty side of the business :). She was a great VR counselor, but with no doubt, would even be a greater force of nature now that she's working with you! Congratulations!!!

Iva & Randy Tullier : Circa 1976

Today is my mom's birthday. October 7th was my father's birthday. They're both two of the most amazing people I'll ever know. Whenever I watch movies/or TV shows - or read in books..... about families, how dynamics influence a family, the relationships within the family, and all that stuff. Fictional, non-fictional, or a bit of both - it's always so interesting to see/read about different types.

My type is almost too perfect. Of course, nobody's perfect but my parents come close to it! Dad retired years ago, mom retired years ago - both at such an early age..... they budget money fantastic, they live a practical life & yet live on a whim, they show love for one another very often (and yes, even through their bickering moments), they are big time feelers, they are huge community worker bees, they manage their son/daughter in law's yardwork, they drive me back and forth to the airport when my wife can't, they always have a smile on their face (well mom does, dad smiles through his sarcasm - but you can see that he's always got a huge smile on his face behind it all), they are amazing advocates for the Alzheimer's cause, they do their best to include everyone, everytime, and everywhere, they are a huge part of my confidence, success, & dreams.

We definitely don't see eye to eye alot of times politically, but I know they are very good at keeping an open mind & I strive to do the same. Political causes actually fall very low at the totem pole when I think about what's really important - the fact they love me unconditionally at no limit. I strive to do the same for them.

They make me sit back and think about things often, whether or not they intend for me to. They make me happy, even when they don't realize it. They make me appreciate the value of a great relationship.

At a rehearsal dinner last week, I was talking about my parents to some strangers (a family - mom/dad, college age son, and middle school daughter) & mentioned that I had the best parents in the world. The college aged son said, "I don't know about that....." while glancing over at his own parents.

"I've got the best parents ever for ME", I rephrased.

He agreed! I think we all have parents we love, some of don't. Some of us aren't as lucky as others, and that is just another reminder of how fortunate I am.

They inspire me.

I love them. Mom and Dad, I love you.

Happy Birthday to some of the best parents around!

TIME TO LOOK INTO THE FUTURE.....

Ok, it's time. No more Mr. Nice Guy for you all. Haha :D No, not really! As much as I'd love to keep my prices remain the same ~ it was just time for me to amp it up for me and increase my prices to help my business grow into an even better one. The costs of equipment keep rising. The demand for my art has risen so much in the last year, and I am so grateful for that.

So many people claim, "That's all?" after I state my rates - and I always took pride in that because I could offer such great work at a low price. My increase in prices are still very reasonable and great for what I can offer you, the customer. I have decided to go up from $100 to $150 (still at up to three people), and push down the 36 shots to 24 shots in order to focus on the "best of the best" shots. As many of my clients who keep returning to me, can see - I'm drowning in edits and not very happy with my turnaround pace. This change will help me do quicker edits and a faster turnaround pace for those who are always needing photos for certain things (holiday photos, baby announcements, and so forth) within a certain time frame.

Senior sessions are now $400 for 50 shots and you/or your teenager can do four outfits (not including the cap/gown if you want to do those). Most sessions take up to two hours, and I look forward to doing them! I have already booked three local seniors and am excited about pushing the envelope and creating amazing shots for them/you (the parents) to have for your memories. You still get a CD with high resolution files in both color and black/white.

Bridals are now $350 for 50 shots and you get those portraits edited in both color and black/white. CD with high resolution files given to client.

Engagement sessions are the same price as a "local session" at $150 for 24 shots. CD is given to you with high resolution files in both color and black/white.

Local Sessions are now starting at $150 for up to three people. Any additional person is an extra $15.  24 shots will be edited in both color and black/white. You get a CD with the high resolution files. This pertains to the Ascension parish / East Baton Rouge Parish areas.

Out of City / State sessions are now at $200 for up to three people. Any additional person is an extra $15.  24 shots will be edited in both color and black/white. You get a CD with the high resolution files. This pertains to the people outside of the Ascension parish / East Baton Rouge Parish areas.

As of now my wedding rate remains the same - $2,200. In the near future, I will be creating different packages (but the $2,200 is still the beginning price) so I can cater to different requests I've been getting. For more details for my current wedding package, please email me.

I am looking forward to the holiday season coming up and all the amazing shoots I'm about to do. I am booking up pretty quick so please do contact me to pencil in your appointment. I look forward to creating some amazing art for you to put into your home and your life.

Thank you again for everything. I certainly aim to please you more than anything else. I continue to think of ideas. I continue to think outside of the box. I want to create interesting and magnificent photos for you.

Yesterday we went to Mamou - the hometown of Sarah's parents - Mr. Richard & Mrs. Charlo for Sarah's grandfather's wake/funeral all day. This was Mr. Richards father - may he rest in peace.

This is PaBee's obituary - what a great man!

"The family.  We were a strange little band of characters trudging through life sharing diseases and toothpaste, coveting one another's desserts, hiding shampoo, borrowing money, locking each other out of our rooms, inflicting pain and kissing to heal it in the same instant, loving, laughing, defending, and trying to figure out the common thread that bound us all together."

~Erma Bombeck

This is a turning point pretty much for Sarah and I both - we now have absolutely NO grandparents in our immediate family. We have been through many family deaths together and along with the announcement that Uncle Ken has passed away yesterday too - it all makes you think about life/family more. All the differences and whatnot we share upon one another, one thing we have to constantly remind ourselves - is that we all only have one family (however you perceive yours). It's a struggle to make time for one another as we all go our own ways about living our lives but there is always the window that's open to change. Mend broken relationships, make more time to visit young cousins, appreciating those family get togethers more, & all that family stuff.

I would like to post a few photos from PaBee's day for those who couldn't make it and for those who appreciate documented life (I know some may be uncomfortable with funeral/death photos but it's how I deal with it!). I didn't bring my camera but used my iPhone and played around with my latest obsession - Hipstamatic, and got some great shots!

Again, Rest in Peace - and to PaBee's family - may you all live a continued loved life with your families/friends. We only have one shot at it.
