Welcome Get Shot By Tate!
Since you MUST know about me...... I'll talk about what kind of photographer I am. I'm the kid who hated traditional crap. I hated the concept of doing wedding photography. I wanted to do high fashion and naked people - and that WAS IT. Fast Forward to ten + years later....... I'm doing weddings, naked people (but it's always tasteful..... or at least I think it is) and I do SOME traditional stuff. I like to think my traditional stuff is twisted. Ok, it's not traditional. Call it what you want to call it, but I don't like the WORD - traditional. My wife does. She's twisted traditional. My work is my work. I don't like rules. It's hard for me to play by the rules when I'm doing photography. I think that's what keeps it so fun for me. I tell the parents of my senior shoots that I dislike cap and gown shots (was I supposed to do that?) but I still do them because I know they love those. ;-) I think you get the drift of what kind of photographer I am. I may think I'm way more radical than I am, but let me think I'm just ubercool and not traditional. Okay?

For the last two years, I've been volunteering at the Ascension Community Theater by donating my photography for their cast shots which go up in the lobby of the theater. I know it's not much but I am trying to get better at contributing to the arts/and my community. The people there are so wonderful and I wish I could spend more time with them. This is my thrill in the theater world :)

Here's the latest I did this week - for the cast of DOUBT. It's directed by Derek Bourque who I've become friends with through this. They just had their opening night last evening and from what I see - it was a success! Go get your tickets here

Here's the cast -

Jennifer Johnson - Sister Aloysius

Aaron Ambeau - Father Flynn

BrittneMry Diez - Sister James

Mrs. Muller - Jamie Williams

Best of luck to Derek and the Cast!

This is a flattering story. Brittany (@brittanymrogers) actually tweeted me last year and said she had been following other wedding photographers from around the states, and asked some if they knew any local (Louisiana) photographers with a similar style. My name came up by Matt Snelson (@mathieuphoto) who is based in Fullerton, California - hence the hookup. Thanks Matt!

We met at the house and hit it off. They get married in Baton Rouge on November 20th of this year so I'm excited about doing the big day!

Enjoy a few of my favorites from their engagement session we did last month in March.

Heeeereeee's Hanna! She was a pleasure to shoot for her senior session and we had fun getting some interesting captures. I tried to incorporate some shadow play and I love how the one under the stairs came out.

Good luck to you, Hanna!

I had so much fun shooting Raegan Sheets in downtown D'ville for her senior session. I couldn't believe it was the same girl who I remember Trish was pregnant for 17 (?) years ago?!?!? Time definitely FLIES by so fast.

She was fun, full of personality, and the weather was fantastic.

Here are some of my favorites from our shoot. (FYI - St. Amant's mascot is the gator so notice hints of gators here and there in these photos...... and another FYI - I WAS the high school mascot my jr/sr years at STAH! ALLY, the Gator!)

Raegan actually brought this frame. It was her great grandma's I think? Correct me if I'm wrong! I love it when props are brought for shoots - it gives me a sense of who the subject is especially for senior sessions.
