Welcome Get Shot By Tate!
Since you MUST know about me...... I'll talk about what kind of photographer I am. I'm the kid who hated traditional crap. I hated the concept of doing wedding photography. I wanted to do high fashion and naked people - and that WAS IT. Fast Forward to ten + years later....... I'm doing weddings, naked people (but it's always tasteful..... or at least I think it is) and I do SOME traditional stuff. I like to think my traditional stuff is twisted. Ok, it's not traditional. Call it what you want to call it, but I don't like the WORD - traditional. My wife does. She's twisted traditional. My work is my work. I don't like rules. It's hard for me to play by the rules when I'm doing photography. I think that's what keeps it so fun for me. I tell the parents of my senior shoots that I dislike cap and gown shots (was I supposed to do that?) but I still do them because I know they love those. ;-) I think you get the drift of what kind of photographer I am. I may think I'm way more radical than I am, but let me think I'm just ubercool and not traditional. Okay?

I finally completed my Austin gigs! Miquel and I drove 8 hours out there to do Brooke's bridal portraits and figured we'd make a fun weekend out of it, as well as do some other gigs! Thank you to everyone who had me do a session - Austin is quickly becoming one of my most favorite cities to visit. #1 - so many close friends moved there/are moving there #2 huh? The city is ridiculously rad. #3 Hello? It's full of weirdos like myself! #4 Uncommon Objects has a home on South Congress - and I am serious when I say, I don't mind having my funeral held there.

Here are some of my favorites from each session I did while in Austin! FYI - If your CD hasn't arrived yet, it went out today... and the rest go out tomorrow morning!

Of course I can't show any of the photos of Brooke in her wedding dress! :-) Gotta wait till after her Vegas wedding! Thank you to Miquel for doing the wonderful hair, and Kristen for assisting Brooke with the dress movement. LOL.

Thank you New York for being such an amazing city. The clients, of course, for giving me the business and reason to come up!

Of course, time is limited these days for I - but I just couldn't not post some photos from my clients sessions in NY! Here's one from each and they're some of my favorites from each bunch. Thank you again for the business everyone!

Amanda and Darren are such a cool hip couple! They got hitched in the middle of nowhere in Bedford, NY which was perfect for what they were going for. Amanda got in touch with me and asked if I'd come up for a quickie wedding and do some cool wedding portraits of them around the town. A few weeks before the ceremony, she let me know noone was allowed to take photos during the actual ceremony - me pouty! I couldn't resist but just accidentally take two or three. They're all not shabby! We had a ball with the few hours we had for this event.

Amanda and Darren, thank you for having me cover your wedding event. It's such an honor every time someone asks me to do so.

and P.S. Can you tell I was crazy in love with Amanda's mermaid tattoo? I loved it. I want one on my back!

Here are some of my faves of their day!

ADORABLE!

Buddy:

I literally said "Wow!" when I saw the very first one. That sums up my feelings about every single one of these. Fantastic as usual, but I must say I especially love the second one!

(05.05.10)
Tonya:

I love the pictures, Tate! We are so blessed to have your talent in our midst. I have a question. Why do some of your pictures have your logo and others do not? By the way.....I love your logo!

tatephoto:

I just created this entry as "one" - if you saved it, it would be saved AS shown, not separate photos. I was just playing around with a different format. Funny, Sarah said the same thing to me!
