Welcome Get Shot By Tate!
Since you MUST know about me...... I'll talk about what kind of photographer I am. I'm the kid who hated traditional crap. I hated the concept of doing wedding photography. I wanted to do high fashion and naked people - and that WAS IT. Fast Forward to ten + years later....... I'm doing weddings, naked people (but it's always tasteful..... or at least I think it is) and I do SOME traditional stuff. I like to think my traditional stuff is twisted. Ok, it's not traditional. Call it what you want to call it, but I don't like the WORD - traditional. My wife does. She's twisted traditional. My work is my work. I don't like rules. It's hard for me to play by the rules when I'm doing photography. I think that's what keeps it so fun for me. I tell the parents of my senior shoots that I dislike cap and gown shots (was I supposed to do that?) but I still do them because I know they love those. ;-) I think you get the drift of what kind of photographer I am. I may think I'm way more radical than I am, but let me think I'm just ubercool and not traditional. Okay?

I just returned from Rhode Island all sunkissed, partied out, and feeling happy for Ally & Nat! It was a great four day weekend for me, and their wedding was absolutely beautiful.

They had a photobooth at their reception (and you know I love those, and everyone else does too!!!)

I hope y'all have been having a great start to your summer! I don't even think I realize it's arrived yet. I've been on the go nonstop. Home for four days then it's off to Miami this weekend for the Molina-Wood wedding! After that I'll be home for two weeks so I'm really looking forward to that and will be able to put in alot more edit hours in. I'm already falling behind and it's driving me nuts. I hate keeping my clients waiting for results but I am human too, y'know? Even though, I could be more like a alien in some ways. A vampire, perhaps? (you know I love my vampire novels - movies, and tv... I'd love to be an immortal!!)

Anyway - sorry I've been sucking at the blog thing but you know I love keeping you entertained and I'm able to post quick edits on my Facebook fan page (and yes, I still irk at the term "fan page" so ridiculous") so be sure to check em out. Post your comments and show some love.

Again, thank you to everyone who provides me the ability to do what I love for a living. It's crazy. I stop and think about it all the time. I'm like, "wow, I get to do what I love....." I know I say that all the time and most of you have probably become immune to feeling it but man, I can NEVER take this for granted. I'm so fortunate!!!!!!

Have a great week y'all!

I'm finally done with April WEDDINGS (not edits, hold onto your horses...... *sigh*)

Jennifer and I had known each other previously from the old days when both of our fathers worked together at Texaco/Star Enterprise. I had not seen her for years until she contacted me to get my info for engagement/wedding stuff - and I'm so glad she did! I love her & Stephen's taste!

We had a ball doing their engagement session last fall - so when it was their actual wedding day - I just knew they'd be a bundle of creative fun.

Another cool personal tidbit was they got married at the Houmas House - one of my childhood grounds. I grew up going there (one of my best friends, Lilli Black lived on the grounds because her father works there) and they are some of my best memories. Lilli always got me, and to this day remains one of my most favorite people.

The Houmas House grounds have changed drastically over the years and yet remains one of the most gorgeous plantation homes in the state of Louisiana in my opinion. I may be biased but really! They have added so much to what they can offer for a visitor! (If this sounds familiar - it's because we did my birthday lunch their in Jan of '09!).

Anyway - let me get back to the point of this blog - Jennifer and Stephen are obviously two really sweet people, and you can tell they're just best friends - and I always say, your best friend is who you should marry if you even bother with it!

Here are some of my absolute favorites from their day - in the album, there are so many more... but these stand out to me for different reasons. and YES, I was obsessed with Jennifer's tattoos. I mean, come on! They're gorgeous!!!!!!!

Thank you J & S - for choosing me to do such a special moment in your lives. I am forever grateful for those who entrust me with that responsibility!

Above is one of the best makeup artists I've seen in my entire career of photography (I make it sound like I'm so old, don't I?) - a surefire recommendation from TTP! Her name is Lauren Kattan of LKMAKEUPYOURMIND.

When I got home yesterday afternoon from Florida, Sarah had a pretty box wrapped and waiting for me on the table. A card said something along the lines of, "Thank you for doing all you do, for your clients, and etc".....

And after opening it - I got one of the best gifts!

A little handmade wooden tape dispenser for my office! She got it off a website (Can't recall what it was) that has many cool gadgets and whatnot.

LOVE it! Thank you Sarah!
