Welcome Get Shot By Tate!
Since you MUST know about me...... I'll talk about what kind of photographer I am. I'm the kid who hated traditional crap. I hated the concept of doing wedding photography. I wanted to do high fashion and naked people - and that WAS IT. Fast Forward to ten + years later....... I'm doing weddings, naked people (but it's always tasteful..... or at least I think it is) and I do SOME traditional stuff. I like to think my traditional stuff is twisted. Ok, it's not traditional. Call it what you want to call it, but I don't like the WORD - traditional. My wife does. She's twisted traditional. My work is my work. I don't like rules. It's hard for me to play by the rules when I'm doing photography. I think that's what keeps it so fun for me. I tell the parents of my senior shoots that I dislike cap and gown shots (was I supposed to do that?) but I still do them because I know they love those. ;-) I think you get the drift of what kind of photographer I am. I may think I'm way more radical than I am, but let me think I'm just ubercool and not traditional. Okay?

It's finally here! Capital Area United Way got in touch with me last December asking me if I'd be interested in taking part of a new project for their website revamp - sure enough, it all worked out and I have been doing several sessions for them throughout the year for their "More than a 1,000 words : A Photo Documentary" stories. The first one has gone up for Jay O'Brien who I followed around and photographed. There is an interview that is playing over the slideshow with the photos I took. I wish it were captioned, maybe that's something I should request!

Here's the link to the website.

Brooke and Travis got married in Florida (they both reside in Gainesville) - and it was a wonderful wedding weekend. Brooke is actually one of my first ever subjects to experiment my photography with back in the VERY OLD days. It was such an honor when she told me she wanted to have me come out to Florida to shoot her special day!

They have an absolutely awesome kid named Carter who was nothing but joy the entire time! Brooke and Travis were both really laidback about the whole wedding thing - she said to me, "Do whatever you want, you tell US what to do." My favorite kind of bride.

We drove out to the downtown area of Seaside, Florida and did their portraits before the actual ceremony which took place on the beach. It was gorgeous! They held their reception under a tent right outside of a block of condos their family and friends had rented out. It was intimate and just stunning. She put alot of money into the flowers and you could tell! They were masterpieces, and I think I took so many photos of them - I couldn't help it. You'll see why after you see them!

Thank you Brooke and Travis (& Carter)!

I love Shane and Trish. I've known Trish for quite a few years because I grew up with her Deaf cousin, Ashlie. She was one of Ashlie's bridesmaids and I guess she was happy with how I handled a wedding day because she requested my services for her big day in Houston, Texas! I got to know Shane a bit better a month before when they came to New Orleans for their engagement session - and it was kind of obvious we all hit it off because we all ended up drunk on Bourbon Street at the end of the day.

Sarah was able to come with me to this gig and I know she loves the Talbot clan - we've been around them for years. All their kids are growing up so fast, and the families are expanding like wildfire!

The photos came out gorgeous! I am so happy with them - and I just am so fortunate I get to shoot such pretty people, inside and outside!

Enjoy these photos (some of my favorites) and be sure to check out their entire album at the end of this blog entry!

Thank you Trish and Shane, again!

Tate's Dad, Randy!:

Good job Tate. This family will look at these pics for years to come and say" I don't remember that", "I didn't see him/her", "I can't believe I did that", look at the clothes/hair, etc." and most importantly, "we are so lucky the photographer paid attention to everything going on and captured it all so the memories can last a life time".
Trish & Shane... your wedding was truly beautiful. Every detail was really thought out and happened. Congrats and I wish you guys all the love, happiness, and great health for the rest of your lives. God bless y'all and your beautiful families.

I'm excited for Heather & Keith who will be welcoming their first baby into their world in only a few more weeks!

They're such a sweet couple and throughout the entire session, they were nothing but tons and tons of fun. Every time I wanted Keith to make Heather laugh, he made sure she DID. Every single time. I asked "What are you saying that gets her laughing every single time?"

They told me.

I laughed, and everytime I wanted THEM to laugh - I told them what he was telling her.

It's kinda not proper to mention on this blog, but if you come up to me and ask in person - you'll laugh too. Haha!!

Here are some of my favorites from their session! Thanks to the two of you for having me shoot such special photos for y'all.

I knew we had steaks in the fridge waiting for Sarah to get home to cook them. I thought to myself, "Why not do some hot photos with Sarah AND the steak?"

Well, yea - we did a shoot.

And man, isn't she sizzlin' hot?

......and by the way, she's cooking them now :-D

For this one, I told her to pretend the steak itself was her tongue! She pulled it off perfectly with a bit humor! ;-)
