I have been nothing but nonstop editing and I just love it because when that happens, it means it's because I'm HOME! Home as in Maison Looziana in Gonzales, Louisiana..... AH! It's been wonderful being here for the last month and half (and I'm not scheduled to leave anywhere until springtime so far..... sweet). Not that I don't like traveling, but I think I just got burnt out with this past year with everything going on and the traveling really put me behind on my edit work which was not cool with me at all. It's nice seeing myself caught up pretty well. As of now, I have two weddings to edit/wrap up and about 5 more holiday photos to edit then I'll officially be caught up!
I haven't really blogged about the Trailblazer event in DC. That was a huge honor to be given, winning the campaign. Overall, the deaf community (and others) voted for me and my charity (Louisiana School for the Deaf - mainly, the after school programs) - and that was nothing but a wonderful surprise for me! We haven't picked our vacation location yet! Part of the prize was a trip anywhere we wanted. We originally wanted Greece but we want to go sometime in the early year of 2010 - and the weather isn't its best then. We're leaning towards going to RIO for the carnival events.....Whadya think???
A few photos from the purple event....
Jeff, Brandi, Mom, Sarah, Dad, and I with the check (which is now at LSD!)
Along with the Trailblazer honor, Baton Rouge Business Report chose me as one of their 40 under 40 (as shown in a previous entry ) Sarah and I attended their dinner event at the Crowne Plaza in town and both sets of our parents came to show their support. Rose Ray was my interpreter!!! I love having her do my gigs because she "gets" me and my personality. Thank you to all of them, who came.
Both the I Dream Bigger campaign AND the 40 under 40 honor has gotten me alot more of local business through all the exposure so that has been wonderful for me. I can't forget the 225 article and the one in The Advocate as well. It's been amazing! When it rains, it pours down.
Us at the 40 under 40 event!

Here are some really very good news for our family! We have been fortunate to welcome not one, but TWO new family members to our ever so growing brood on the Lambert side of the family (Mom's side).
Here's the first time we met Eli Avery (when we got back from Darlene and John's wedding!!)

His parents are Christian & Lauren Avery (sistah is Lola!!!!)

And here's two shots from the photo session I did of Caleb Lambert (his parents are Casey & Meredith Lambert!!!) when they came to visit from Alabama for Thanksgiving!
I love how they came out (just did them today!)

Aren't they both beautiful boys???! I can't wait to see them grow. It feels like just yesterday that LOLA was born, and now she's walking, talking, and all that!
Here's a shot of us at Thanksgiving at Nanny Barbara's house near Lafayette (That's Mrs. Charlo's sister).
Here's one of us ALL together (really, ALL of us!!!!!!!!!) at my parents home in St. Amant!
Well, that's about enough for now! I would blog much more often but time is just running out all the time! This is just proof that I am getting all caught up and had time to do this one!!! I loved doing it and aim to do more once the holiday edits are DONE!!!!!!
Thank you again to everyone for being so wonderful. Thank to all those who voted for me for the Purple Trailblazer award, thank you to all those who have shown me nothing but support, thank you to all those who have brought so much business my way and continue to give wonderful words about my work that I LOVE so much.
Thank you to Sarah, my wife, for being what she is to me. I couldn't ask for a better best friend.
