Welcome Get Shot By Tate!
Since you MUST know about me...... I'll talk about what kind of photographer I am. I'm the kid who hated traditional crap. I hated the concept of doing wedding photography. I wanted to do high fashion and naked people - and that WAS IT. Fast Forward to ten + years later....... I'm doing weddings, naked people (but it's always tasteful..... or at least I think it is) and I do SOME traditional stuff. I like to think my traditional stuff is twisted. Ok, it's not traditional. Call it what you want to call it, but I don't like the WORD - traditional. My wife does. She's twisted traditional. My work is my work. I don't like rules. It's hard for me to play by the rules when I'm doing photography. I think that's what keeps it so fun for me. I tell the parents of my senior shoots that I dislike cap and gown shots (was I supposed to do that?) but I still do them because I know they love those. ;-) I think you get the drift of what kind of photographer I am. I may think I'm way more radical than I am, but let me think I'm just ubercool and not traditional. Okay?

Hey y'all - It's been one busy summer! I'm hoping that this fall I'll blog a ton more & and not just post wedding after wedding.

I scanned some stuff that clients sent me to show me what they did with photos that I shot for them..... I LOVE seeing results of photo sessions regardless if it's for an event, or for your own personal home decor. It pumps my blood up.....

Here's a thank you card that Amanda & Darren's friend whipped together along with the photos I shot on their wedding day in NY this past April. I love how it came out!

Finally, I've completed the first wedding of this summer that's already almost over! :D

Ally & Nat were tons of fun! I loved being in the Providence area - checking out this and that throughout their wedding weekend. We even squeezed in some beach time! Ally & Nat had a fun filled wedding day which included a gorgeous wedding, wild reception, & a post party at her father's home - which got even more wild. They even had me doing a keg stand. Oy.

Like I said - tons of fun. I loved seeing old faces and meeting new faces. One bummer was another couple asked if I was available for a wedding date they set this fall - "Yes, I am".... :( I hate that. I know I'm already booked for another wedding but I love getting new clients, double the money, and they get fabulous photos! :D

Check out some of my favorite shots from their day & see their entire album at the end of this entry!

Thank you again Ally & Nat. Stunning, you both were!

Yesterday we went to Mamou - the hometown of Sarah's parents - Mr. Richard & Mrs. Charlo for Sarah's grandfather's wake/funeral all day. This was Mr. Richards father - may he rest in peace.

This is PaBee's obituary - what a great man!

"The family.  We were a strange little band of characters trudging through life sharing diseases and toothpaste, coveting one another's desserts, hiding shampoo, borrowing money, locking each other out of our rooms, inflicting pain and kissing to heal it in the same instant, loving, laughing, defending, and trying to figure out the common thread that bound us all together."

~Erma Bombeck

This is a turning point pretty much for Sarah and I both - we now have absolutely NO grandparents in our immediate family. We have been through many family deaths together and along with the announcement that Uncle Ken has passed away yesterday too - it all makes you think about life/family more. All the differences and whatnot we share upon one another, one thing we have to constantly remind ourselves - is that we all only have one family (however you perceive yours). It's a struggle to make time for one another as we all go our own ways about living our lives but there is always the window that's open to change. Mend broken relationships, make more time to visit young cousins, appreciating those family get togethers more, & all that family stuff.

I would like to post a few photos from PaBee's day for those who couldn't make it and for those who appreciate documented life (I know some may be uncomfortable with funeral/death photos but it's how I deal with it!). I didn't bring my camera but used my iPhone and played around with my latest obsession - Hipstamatic, and got some great shots!

Again, Rest in Peace - and to PaBee's family - may you all live a continued loved life with your families/friends. We only have one shot at it.

Hey y'all -

I think this is the longest I've gone without updating my schedule! Everyone's been asking for possible dates? "Are you available?" I've just accepted the fact I can't keep up with my schedule in my little head any longer. That's a good thing.... and a bad thing... but I'll say more good than bad. :)

Hope you all have been doing great! This summer has been insane (how many times have I said that already?) and that you've been really taking advantage of this hot weather. I've been doing all my shoots locally at 8am or late, late, late afternoon - SO HOT. I'll take my air conditioner on a tray 24/7.

Anyway, I better shut up and get back to editing Ally & Nat's wedding and post this updated schedule! Things are already booking up for 2011 so PLEASE send in your inquiries if you're interested in using my services for your wedding day.

Thank you again for your support and I'm still alive, thankyouverymuch.

Lori found me via the 40 under 40 thing I was chosen as part of last fall, and hired me right after only a few emails exchanged! We actually met AT the Business Report 40 under 40 gala. She came up to my table and introduced herself and I was clueless until I figured out she said she was the bride that booked me for May blah blah recently! Isn't it how cool how things work out somehow - I loved shooting her and Chet's big day!

They definitely were one of the most laid back couples I've shot for a huge deal of a day. Both were very friendly and just so easy to photograph. They weren't into the posed stuff (but we did a few traditional group shots and whatnot but overall...) so that's usually what my best work is!

They did the whole shindig at the Louisiana State Museum in Baton Rouge! Ah! I am so in love with the photographic heaven that place is. There's so many different things/areas to shoot around - and it was almost just overwhelming by that itself alone. When the flowers, the people, the food, and all the rest came into the picture - WOW! Stunning. I definitely hope I score some more gigs that hold their event there - beautiful architecture.

Check out some of my favorites from their big day. Thanks to you, Chet & Lori - for having me do such a huge day of your lives. I had a ball and the photos are just beautiful - mostly because of your family & friends!
