Welcome Get Shot By Tate!
Since you MUST know about me...... I'll talk about what kind of photographer I am. I'm the kid who hated traditional crap. I hated the concept of doing wedding photography. I wanted to do high fashion and naked people - and that WAS IT. Fast Forward to ten + years later....... I'm doing weddings, naked people (but it's always tasteful..... or at least I think it is) and I do SOME traditional stuff. I like to think my traditional stuff is twisted. Ok, it's not traditional. Call it what you want to call it, but I don't like the WORD - traditional. My wife does. She's twisted traditional. My work is my work. I don't like rules. It's hard for me to play by the rules when I'm doing photography. I think that's what keeps it so fun for me. I tell the parents of my senior shoots that I dislike cap and gown shots (was I supposed to do that?) but I still do them because I know they love those. ;-) I think you get the drift of what kind of photographer I am. I may think I'm way more radical than I am, but let me think I'm just ubercool and not traditional. Okay?

I have seen Dylan grow up from a lil kid to a senior in high school. It's crazy because it reminds me that I'm actually in my 30's! (If I remember correctly, I gave him and his older brother, Evan, swimming lessons!)

Thank you to Dylan and Mrs. Gail for coming out for a fun photo session with me for such a special milestone.

Thanks for letting us lug you around LSU Tate! We had a blast! And yes, you did teach Evan & Dylan how to swim at your mom's pool. And when did I first meet you? You were a silly freshman at St. Amant High! "I knew you when" and now you're a mega photographer with awesome talent!! My fav is the stadium shot too because it suits Dylan to a T. Our family loves you, your beautiful wife and your sweet parents!

I love baby Eli's blue eyes! This is Christian and Lauren's baby boy who is growing so big every week. Mom babysits him while Lauren's at work and today when she/Dad came to paint our new bookshelves - he just sat on the couch chillin' out to the max.

I had the pleasure of doing a session with Antonia (and some with her boyfriend, Pedro) in Rio during our vacation. Yep! I did a shoot, so I did work a tiny bit..... SHHH!

We had alot of fun and she wanted to do it at this gorgeous park, Jardim Botanico. We got to see the beautiful landscape while walking around through the session.

Here are some of my favorites. Thank you Antonia! (Your CD will be mailed off soon!!)

Cristina James:

Love it all and now you can say you had an international photo portofolio too. It is beautiful with the palm tree and all also I wanted to say that in the 9th picture with her boyfriend that guy looks a little bit of a young Tate.

(03.02.10)
Meggo:

LOVE the one with the palm leaves, river, and sun!! Its really cool to have some pictures taken at an exotic location!!! AWESOME JOB!

(03.02.10)
Mrs. TTP:

i think Pedro looks sorta like Tom Brady and its ironic because Tom Brady DID marry a Brazilian woman, Gisele LOL :) Gorgeous pixs, Antonia has such a contagious smile!!!!!

It's been one week since we got home from Brasil and we miss it! It's been wonderful being back home to our normal daily lives (we do have a good life, even at home! It's like a vacation every day with Sarah ;-D).

Before we left to Rio, we bought a Lensbaby to take some photos over our vacation and for me to have for work as well. It was so much fun, and just a tad bit too addictive! We kept shooting with it the entire way to Rio, AND our entire afternoon that Saturday. It's a wonderful toy to play with but we knew we shouldn't leave it on for the whole week or every damn shot we took would be all crazy and make you guys vomit after just a few!

We were way to trustworthy immediately taking so many photos - but we could feel tons of the locals really "watching" us - I figured it was because we were white, American, and all happy touristy..... and then a few people told us we should be careful with the camera which I figured was normal. Later that evening, I brought it to take photos of a street carnival that we attended and you could feel eyes burning into us! We then realized we couldn't have my fancy camera just hanging around and snapping away - so for the remainder of the week, we left it in our "bag" and used the tiny camera for most of the week! :-( We did take some snapshots, but not as much as we did with our smaller camera so this blog is the big "show" where we took alot with the fancy camera, and the lensbaby lens.

These are from the airports to the first day being in Rio in the early evening. We have tons more of photos to show but that will come soon!

Enjoy :-) Thank you again to everyone who voted for me and made this wonderful trip possible! It was a nice vacation away from work (the last one I took was years ago if you say "no work, no emails, no nothing" to me). Purple, Thank you for covering this trip - it was wonderful!!!

It was so ironic because this restaurant's name was La Maison (it's right outside the hotel we stayed at, and we frequently ate there) and our home's name is Maison Looziana! Fate!

wow, awesome pics tate & sarah! i'll have to try a lensbaby someday. they make great effects! i agree with queenalpo about the picture of sarah looking at the guys walking by. that's funny! when i was in paris last fall, my husband told me that someone was staring at my eos 20d camera while we were waiting in the line. he told me to be sure to keep it strapped around my neck the entire time. so i know the feeling. i'm glad that nothing had happened while you were there. looking forward to more pics!

Christine interpreted for a wedding I shot in Palo Alto two years ago, and I guess I made a good impression on her because she and Craig booked me for their wedding in NorCal this coming October! They wanted to get some engagement shots done, and I knew I wouldn't be in their area anytime soon so I let them know the unfortunate news. Next thing I know - they're saying they will fly into town for their shoot! How flattering - flying into town to get shot by me, how cool! They wanted to get them done as soon as they could so they flew in the day Sarah and I flew out for Rio! I met up with them in New Orleans and we shot around the Jackson Square & Pat O'Briens in the most awful rainy, freezing weather. I told C & C that it was so abnormal for Louisiana to have that sort of weather! (Same time as the "expected" snow....) - they both had such great spirits and we had an amazing shoot! We got tons of marvelous shots, and they got to check out New Orleans for their first time around the peak of Mardi Gras!

Check out Christine and Craig! Leave some comment love for them!
